I was at a family work event today when I ran into my former preschool students (they’re cousins) from 10 years ago…and they remember me! Their moms want me to come to their high school graduation a few years from now. Also, I wished my Spanish was better to talk to the parents, and I don’t know how to talk to 15 year olds. 😭 #AllTheFeels
To celebrate International Literacy Day today, I want to give away free Siris the Rhino Stickers! Siris the Rhino is a friendly rhino who has a hard time seeing with his bad vision until he meets a friend who introduces him to glasses.
It’s also back to school season where students are getting their vision checked! Know any kids who can relate to Siris? Share some stickers with them! Just email me a mailing address, and I’ll send some stickers your way! :)
Last week was an intense but successful week! I taught back-to-back two 1-hour classes on painting. I got to dust off my teaching skills (in Chinese) with a bunch of first graders.
First Day: I explained our art objective and what we would try to accomplish by the end of the week. We discussed the different seasons and which ones were our favorite. For the rest of the class, we sketched a “blueprint” of our scenery that we would later paint the following days. Continue reading “First Week Success!”
